To Vinay, films contain an element of magic - the ability to transport us to another time and place. They also evoke emotions in us and can even alter our perceptions. Vinay George was born and brought up in Abu Dhabi in an immigrant household, and moved to Dallas, Texas in 2016 but now lives in Brooklyn New York. His love for visual arts and film started at a very young age and over the years his passion and dedication have helped him grow from a photographer to an award-winning writer, director, and editor. He has ever since gone on to make seven short films.  5 of these have won film festival awards and been distributed over the world.  While in college he was involved in numerous media-related projects.

 

One of his favorite projects was directing, writing, and producing his recent film called The Girl In Red, a short film that touches on the dangers of online dating. He also got to shoot, edit, and provide video content for small businesses in the Dallas Fort Worth area. He attended NYFA in 2o21 and has ever since completed the two-year filmmaking program and has made both Narrative work and commercials as well. 

 

At NYFA Vinay got the opportunity to wear different hats in film sets such as being Assistant Director, Producer, Script Supervisor, Production Designer, Production Manager, Cinematographer, 1st assistant camera, 2nd assistant camera, DIT, Production Assistant, Art Director, Editor, writer, and Director.

Vinay has a love and passion for telling stories that not only reaches a border audience but he loves to tell stories that reflect the horrors that we all are scared of acknowledging. Vinay is also constantly looking to connect with other filmmakers as well.
